No, this isn't a photo of a public phone booth, it's a photo of a public urinal. And that's Joel's orange baseball cap you see through the mesh sides. Tasteless? Yes. But I had to show you because these urinals are all over the city. They are disturbing and at the same time very practical! It grosses me out every time I walk by one with someone in it, but when we were treking through the city on Saturday afternoon.
Most of these urinals appear to be located along canals. I think the sewer actually flows right into the canals. I have yet to see anyone cleaning these public urinals, so I am grateful that it rains a lot here.
Surprisingly, they don't have open air toilets for women to use on the sidewalks, so when I needed to pee I found a toilet located inside a restroom. And fortunately for you, I didn't take any photos!
